SLF Annual Board Meeting The SLF Annual Board Meeting was held today at Tikkurila. Main issuea - Economic and activity report from 2009 as well as the plans for 2010, transferring the precidency to Finland and co-operation in Europe (FATIPEC/OCCA) and within CSI (Coatings societies international). A lively discussion throuhout the day.

Papers for ETCC 2010 SLF is looking for two candidate technical papers from Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden for the ETCC at FATIPEC 2010. Deadline for title and abstract is February 1st 2010. The papers should be within the topics of the congress or the themes of ETCC. FATIPEC will cover congress participation fee and accommodation (1 night) and SLF will cover travel expenses from Scandinavia to Genoa (Economy class) for the candidate selected to represent SLF. Simon Greve has become GS of CSI Simon Greve has on behalf on SLF taken over as General Secretary of Coatings Society International (CSI) from Don MacDonald from SCANZ. SLF will be responsible for the secretariat of CSI for the next 5 years.

SLF Congress The 19th SLF Congress took place the 8-9th of September 2009.The congress gathered some 200 participants from 15 countries, who attended some 40 high level technical presentation within coating technology. The first ETCC - European Technical Coating Congress was jointly organized by SLF, OCCA and FATIPEC and took place as plenary lectures at the second half of the last day at the SLF Congress. The organizing committee consisting of Michael Aamodt, Olav Marstokk, Per Kristian Aagaard, Birger Friis Eriksen, Arne Ellevog, Ed ten Hacken and Edvard Dæhlen recieved much positive feedback for a excellent and well organized SLF Congress.

SLF Annual Board Meeting The SLF Annual board meeting will take place the 31 of January 2008 at Hempel in Kgs. Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark. The four national chairmens from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden will meet with the SLF President and SLF General Secretary. The FoL chief editor Simon Greve will also participate in the meeting when talking about the SLF member journal.

SLF Guest Lecturer The topic of this years SLF Guest Lecture is "Self-Healing Coatings". Dr. Volkmar Stenzel from Fraunhofer IFAM will give his lecture in Denmark/Copenhagen the 23 october 2007. The SLF Guest Lecture will be given in Finland, Norway and Sweden in week 4 or 5 2008.

SLF-Congress 2009 The 19th SLF Congress will take place the 6 - 8 september 2009 at Rica Park Hotel in Sandefjord, Norway. The beautiful city of Sandefjord is located by the coast some 120 km south of Oslo. The city has an excellent international airport with direct flights to many European cities.

SLF-Congress 2006 The 18th SLF Congress from 8th to 10th October has been attended by 280 people coming from 15 different countries - and both the technical program and the social events were susccesfull.
